Not Just Spirituality, is a platform or if one may call sit a medium to share information, tips and means to adopt a wholesome and well balanced lifestyle, albeit with a background of spirituality. It is friends, well-wishers and seekers asking me questions about our Culture and our way of life – Sanatan Dharma that encouraged me to carve out time for this project.
Content on this platform is predominantly about Spirituality interspersed with my personal experiences, however, every once in a while I am driven and motivated to talk about topics that either affect our Spirituality or then are affected by Sprituality.

This was ride from Mysore to Dhanushkodi, where the “Lankasetu” is. This is the bridge that was built by Sri Ram’s army when rescuing Sitadevi from Ravana. En route we halted at a few religious sites. This was the stop at Srirangam, where Ranganath Swami resided. This is the biggest operating temple in the world.

His Holiness Sridhar Swami, my dear Guru Maharaj, chose to spend His last days in Sri Dham Mayapur. I was very fortunate to spend some time with Him over the years and especially during His last days. This video contains some photographs taken during those last days. Ugadi is made up of two different words - Yug (era) and Adi (new beginning).
Thus, Yugadi stands for new beginnings & Ugadi is an ode to mark the birth of the universe.
The belief behind this is that Lord Brahma created the universe on this day and that is why it is celebrated as the first day of the Hindu calendar.
According to the Vedic Calendar the meaning of this year’s name, “Subhakritu Nama Samvatsara,” is that it will be filled with great deeds and good fortune.
The festival also marks the ‘new year’ in many parts of the country.
It is especially celebrated in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Manipur.

It is not very often, in fact very seldom, that we are blessed to witness the installation of deities. I am one of those most fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit Sridhar Mayapur, at the time of the installation of the Pañca-tattva: Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya, Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu, Śrī Advaita Ācārya, Śrī Gadādhara Prabhu and Śrīvāsa Prabhu. Each represents a certain flavor of Bhakti.

It’s been several years but I only just went to see Kanteshwara at Nanjangud near Mysore. Lord Shiva is my Kuladeva. Our community claims it’s descent from the Naga’ that are around Shivas neck. The story goes thus….when Lord Shiva was going to get married the father of the bride asked why there were no Brahmins in Shivas entourage. Who will perform the wedding? At that point Lord Shiva took the snakes from His neck and threw them on the ground. They took the form of Brahmins who then performed the wedding ceremony.
It was high time to go and pay my respects. The Darshan was amazing. Electric. Peaceful. Supercharged. Emotional. Blissful.
Nanjangud has been a major Shiva centre for nearly a thousand years. Chola Kings in the 11th – 12th century are considered to have built this temple with significant additions by the Hoysalas and the Vijayanagara kings. This temple was later renovated by the Hoysala kings.

As we come to the end of 2022, I’d like to share with you my thoughts about Neuro Linguistic Programming.
In this Part 2 in the series, I propose that Sri Krishna, who is referred in India and elsewhere, as The Supreme Personality of Godhead, is a master at NLP.
This article is NOT based on religious/spritual motivations. Instead, I merely seek to pick up some exchanges between Arjuna and Krishna from the Bhagavad-Gita.
The situation is that Arjuna, an accomplished warrior balks at the prospect of war. His friend, charioteer, relative and guide, uses some beautiful techniques involving NLP to counsel, chastise and motivate Arjuna into arriving at a conclusion.
