– When Words Meet Vision

Every book has its own heartbeat. The Fire Beneath Stillness was born not just from the ink of memory. It also emerged from the soul’s quiet need to speak. And now, it seeks not only to be read, but to be seen.

In a deeply meaningful creative collaboration, the Department of Art and Design at Sophia Polytechnic has joined hands with the author. The students have used visual art to bring out the emotional depth of this written work. This collaboration project has been enthusiastically guided by key supporters. Eternal gratitude to Ashkaa Shah, the guiding force behind this project and Principal Meenal Joshi. We must, of course mention Ajab Sakarwala, an ex-student and now creative professional, for making this connection possible.

The project is driven by the sensitivity, interpretation and creativity of emerging student artists. This artwork reflects the raw, spiritual, and symbolic essence of each phase of life the book explores. This is more than an artistic exercise—it’s a soulful convergence. A union of word and image, reflection and expression, spirit and brushstroke.

Our shared vision? To achieve a paring of each of the book’s 7 Gateways and 53 Invocations with original artwork. The Sophia team was given simple instructions. Use oil, watercolor, and mixed media works and to intentionally shy away from digital or AI art. This honored the authenticity and emotional texture of the book. It aligned with the author’s intent.

As we speak, these pieces of art are being incorporated in the print edition of The Fire Beneath Stillness. The college and students will be fully credited. They will also gain visibility through social media spotlights, curated showcases, and potential exhibitions. All contributing students will be fully credited.

This collaboration isn’t just a chapter in the book’s journey. It’s a living invocation of its message. There is fire beneath every stillness. In the hands of these young artists, that fire is being beautifully lit.
