Legacy is not marble and money. It is emotion passed down. This gateway is about how we love our children. We must consider if we’ve healed enough not to pass on our ghosts.
“You don’t just raise children. You raise futures you’ll never see.”

In this artwork, I have illustrated a pair of hands holding a human heart, from which a tree grows upward. The tree represents the legacy of love and pain. What parents carry inside often becomes the emotional soil their children grow from. The roots embedded in the heart show that parenting comes with history. Sometimes it’s messy, and sometimes it’s tender. Yet, it is still capable of producing something alive and powerful.
“We don’t just pass on our genes.
We pass on presence, wounds, silence, and the fire we’ve never named.”
I deliberately kept the piece raw and stripped down. I avoided additional decorative elements. I felt the core visual – the heart, the hands, the tree – already held enough symbolic weight. Adding more would have softened the emotional truth I wanted to preserve.
